Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully. By creating an account or using TradeConnect, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use TradeConnect.
TradeConnect is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent tradespeople and drivers ("Tradespeople"). TradeConnect is not a contractor, employer, or agent of any Tradesperson and does not perform trade work itself. The contract for any job is between the customer and the Tradesperson.
Tradespeople are independent businesses, not employees of TradeConnect. Each Tradesperson is solely responsible for holding every licence, certification, permit and insurance required for the work they do, for complying with workplace safety and workers' compensation rules, and for reporting and paying their own taxes. A "verified" badge means a Tradesperson completed our photo check. It is not a guarantee of skill, licensing, insurance, background or quality of work. Customers should confirm licences and insurance before work begins.
Customers post jobs or request bookings and Tradespeople may accept them or send quotes. A quote is an estimate based on what the customer described. Final cost can change if the scope of work, hours or materials change, and any change must be agreed in the app. Exact addresses and contact details are shared only after a booking is confirmed.
Emergency dispatch sends a high-priority alert to nearby Tradespeople. It does not guarantee that anyone will accept, respond or arrive by a certain time. If anyone is in danger, or there is fire, a gas leak, a medical emergency or a risk to life, call 911 first.
Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms. Use Report an Issue in the app to raise a problem with a job. We will review disputes in good faith and may refund, adjust or withhold payment based on what we find. Our decision does not limit your legal rights.
You are responsible for the photos, descriptions, messages, ratings and reviews you post. You must not post anything that is false, misleading, unlawful, hateful, threatening, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights. You must not impersonate others, misuse another person's contact details or address, scrape or copy the service, interfere with its security, or use it for anything unlawful. By posting content you give TradeConnect a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and use it to run and promote the service. You keep ownership of your content.
Jobs happen in real homes and workplaces. Use good judgement, share only what is needed, and report anything unsafe or inappropriate to us. We may remove content or suspend accounts to protect people.
TradeConnect is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise the quality, safety, timing or legality of any Tradesperson's work or any customer's job. Some rights under consumer protection law cannot be waived, and nothing in these Terms removes them.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TradeConnect is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill, or for damage to property or injury arising from work done by a Tradesperson or conduct of a user. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the fees we earned from the job the claim relates to. This does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.
You agree to cover TradeConnect for losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your unlawful conduct, to the extent permitted by law.
You can stop using TradeConnect at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that break these Terms, put others at risk, or abuse the service. Terms that by their nature should continue (payment, liability, disputes) continue after your account ends.
We may update these Terms. When we make important changes we will tell you in the app. Using TradeConnect after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts located in Ontario have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law to bring a claim where you live.
Tradespeople are responsible for their own insurance and for damage caused by their work. Customers should keep their own property insurance and should take photos of the work area before a job starts. TradeConnect does not insure customers, Tradespeople or their property.
